The Benefit of Experiencing a Designer Show House
Kip Kip Hooray! November means that it is time to give thanks for another Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas! Show houses are great places to see rooms that have been expertly decorated by renowned interior designers (usually within only a small number of weeks) all in one house. They are experiential design masterclasses, idea generators, and fun eye candy. Being that the Kips Bay Decorator Show House is one of the most respected in the United States, it has been a pleasure to be able to attend here in Dallas for the last 3 years.
The whole show house was spectacular, but here are some highlights from my visit last Saturday.
This room designed by Doniphan Moore was probably my favorite. The textiles have a serene color palette, while pops of color are added through flower arrangements, art, and décor.
I particularly loved this bouquet of golf clubs…err I mean lotus seed pods.
Interesting layering of William Morris wallpaper patterns as artwork (Designer: Fleming Peters)
Love the textures and shapes found in the console, lamp, and paper wall art (Designer: Samantha Fisher Studio)
Another favorite, this time by designer, Nicole Zarr
Art deco was a theme that threaded through many of the rooms. What an interesting fireplace! (Designer: Sarah Stacey Interior Design)
See you next year, Kips Bay!
